A garden of widgets is like an outdoor garden. It requires labor and dedication, tilled with input from natural sources like sunlight, water, and beneficial insects. The successful gardener works to coexist with nature — allowing the garden to flourish through a combination of soil amendment, doing battle with pests, and by enabling the strengths of each living plant. The reward is a series of delights to sight, taste, sound, and experience.

When I create a widget (design, piece of writing, art piece), I find there is often an element of the organic that enters into the mix. Never giving up, having a dedication to the process and listening to all the creative inputs ultimately results in a more inspired outcome.
